Swine Flu Info
Dear Parents,
We have received the following information from the Colorado Dept. of Education about H1N1 also known as the swine flu:
At this point, there have been a few cases of swine flu in Colorado. There are many things you can to do preventing getting and spreading influenza.
Prevention Recommendations from the CDC:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.
- Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way
- Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
- Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people.
- Please remember, if you get sick, CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.

We will be following these recommendations and if the need arises, the Guidelines for Education: Pandemic Readiness Plan that was created to address the specific needs of the schools in a pandemic situation. You may review this document on the Colorado Dept. of Education’s website, http://www.cde.state.co.us/cdesped/rss-nurse.asp#h1n1 . We wanted you to be informed, but not alarmed.
Thank you for your help,
