Parent involvement is a key component of the vision for Caprock Academy. As such, it is important that parental involvement be delineated here.

Student Directory

If you would like to be included in the 2008 - 2009 Student Directory, you must complete a Consent Form. You may download the form as either an Adobe PDF file or as a Word document. Directions for returning the Consent Form, are located on the form.

Family Agreement

Each parent will sign a Family Agreement in which they acknowledge their responsibility in helping students complete assignments in for reading to their children at home, among other agreements. All parents must sign this agreement. Here is a copy of the 2008/2009 Family Handbook.

Family Support Hours

Families are expected to volunteer 40 hours per school year for 1st child, 20 for 2nd, 10 for 3rd, etc., not to exceed 80 hours (single-parent families are expected to volunteer 15 hours per year per child). The opportunities for volunteering will be in and out of the classroom, and during and outside the normal school day. We have a Volunteer Support Coordinator. See our list of Family Support Hour Activities for some of the many ways you can fulfill this commitment.

Lunch Program

At this time, there will be no hot lunch program.  All students will need to bring their lunches with them.

Programs with extra costs

As a public school, there is no tuition and students do not purchase their own textbooks, but certain programs that are outside the normal school requirements are provided at a cost. The full-day kindergarten program and the Extended Hour program are two such programs. To learn more about these programs and their costs, please contact. Some extra-curricular activities will also have costs.

School Transportation and Carpooling

There will be no transportation provided by the district for the Caprock Academy. Students may be dropped off between 7:15-7:45am and picked up between 3:00-3:15pm. Caprock Academy will accommodate an effort by parents to develop and coordinate a carpool program.
