What are those 4th graders up to???

The 4th grade classrooms are studying the Middle Ages from now until Christmas break. The students will be learning many important facts integrated with the grand stories of the days of King Arthur. During the Fall break, several parents in Mrs. Chambers' classroom helped staple brown "wallpaper" over most of the walls. As students returned, they realized they were in a castle! Each student helped paint the "bricks" on the brown wallpaper. The students studied pictures of castles so they would have a better idea of how to create the "look" for the classroom. A student-size shield hangs in the display window created inside the castle wall. Eventually, students' own coats of arms will be displayed. For now though, parents are invited to enjoy the castle inside our room.
