The Middle Ages
Mrs. Pond's 4th grade class celebrated the end of their Middle Ages study by having a Medieval Day feast and Knighting ceremony. From knighting to wassailing, feasting on the royal goose, boar's head and yule log, the newly dubbed knights had a terrific time as captured by two 6th grade Eagle's Quill reporters and the pictures below. We also thank all the parents who gave of their time to make this a memorable Medieval Day feast!
Have you ever wanted to be a loyal Knight? Thursday, December 20, the 4th graders put on a Royal Knighting Ceremony. Our Headmaster, Mr. Gottschalk, was King Richard, knighting the loyal subjects.
To be knighted, the students had to stand, recite their names and tell the King what they would do for their country. Heathryn Livingston was the very first student knighted. What an honor!
Afterwards they started to pick the King and Queen for the feast. Each Knight got a muffin and in one special muffin was a bean. Whoever gets the bean is the new King or Queen. Emma Crick was the lucky one to get it, and she, as Queen, chose Ben Swain to be her King. They reigned over the feast for the rest of the day!
We now have Knights at Caprock Academy who are loyal and true!
