World War I Skits - 2007/2008
The students in the 7th grade have been studying World War I for the past two months. As a culminating event, the class summed up the war from the beginning to the end with their own interpretive skits.
The whole class was divided into four groups, with each group reporting on a time period within the war. They were responsible for communicating the events in an accurate manner making them easy to follow as well. They were graded and critiqued by their peers initially, and then had the opportunity to make revisions before presenting the final product. They were scored based on their contribution to their group (based on their written research), as well as following directions, and overall presentation.
With limited props, the students relied on their creative genius carving a submarine out of cardboard boxes, re-enacting trench warfare and a Zeppelin raid, as well as including background music in some of the scenes. Overall, they did a great job!
