Grant-writing committee member Karen Myers attended the Western Slope Rural Philanthropy Days in Crested Butte, June 17-19.  Representing one of two Charter Schools at the event, Karen did a bang-up job introducing Caprock to the many grant-makers attending and networking with a number of organizations from the Front Range and Western Slope.  She received many favorable responses including a “green light” from the Daniels Fund to submit a grant application.  Tracee Flenard, our Art Teacher, created a show-stopping cowboy boot for the event illustrating its theme “Walking the Walk.”  The transformed boot incorporates elements of Caprock’s Vision and Mission as well as our future goals, such as building a “green” facility.  Enjoy Tracee’s fine creation:  it’s on display in the Art room.
