All Caprock Academy students are required to complete 10 hours of community service each year before the last day of school.  Students may begin working on hours during the summer, but at least 5 hours must be completed during the school year.

Hours should be sent to studentservicehours@gmail.com until further notice.  Please include the student’s name, grade, teacher, and number of hours.

The Community Service Committee will be organizing the following events to help students earn hours.  However, students are encouraged to not only participate in the organized events but to find additional service opportunities that fit personal talents and interests.  We would like to teach our children that by working together, we can make our community a better place.

February 13: Mesa View Retirement Center Visit, 10:30-11:30 a.m.  We will be making Valentines with the residents.  RSVP to Kristi Ballif at kristiballif@msn.com.
February 16-20: Teddy Bear Drive.  We will be collecting teddy bears for community children. The class with the most Teddy Bears collected will win an ice cream party.
March 25: Mesa View Retirement Center Visit, 7-8 p.m.  Bring a favorite thing to share with the residents (a toy, picture, etc.).  RSVP to Kristi Ballif at kristiballif@msn.com.
March: Earth Day Displays.  During the month of March, students can make artwork to teach the community the importance of protecting our earth.  Topics can include recycling, cleaning up garbage, proper disposal of batteries, etc.  Bring artwork to school by March 24 so that we can put it up for display in the community before Earth Day.  (Limit of 2 service hours.)
April 10: Mesa View Retirement Center Visit, 10:30-11:30 a.m.  We will be making paper flowers with the residents.  RSVP to Kristi Ballif at kristiballif@msn.com.
May 12: Mesa View Retirement Center Visit, 7-8 p.m.  RSVP to Kristi Ballif at kristiballif@msn.com.
